Venues have responsibilities. So do I. If a coordinator needs insurance confirmation, PAT information, setup details or a risk assessment, I provide it directly rather than leaving you stuck in the middle.
I arrive with the information needed to work sensibly around access routes, power, fire exits, guests, other suppliers and the venue’s own operating procedures. That preparation protects the event as well as the dancefloor.
Public Liability Insurance
Carl Mitchell DJ holds £5 million public liability cover arranged through insure4music. Evidence can be supplied directly to an authorised venue contact where required.
Electrical Safety
Portable electrical equipment is visually checked before use and covered by a recorded PAT-testing programme. The current test date is 31 August 2026.
Risk-Aware Setup
A written mobile DJ risk assessment covers loading, lifting, cables, electrical equipment, stands, noise, lighting, guest interaction, fire routes and event-specific conditions.

If your venue has a supplier form or house rules, send them through. Otherwise, these are the details that usually prevent delays on the day.
Parking position, loading entrance, stairs, lifts, restricted routes and the permitted arrival time.
Allocated setup space, ceiling restrictions, fire exits and the location of other suppliers.
Available sockets, circuit restrictions and any venue rules governing extension leads or power distribution.
Sound limiter details, maximum levels, curfews and any restrictions on bass or speaker positioning.
Guest arrival, speeches, formal moments, first dance, live performers and the agreed finish time.
Outdoor contingency, marquees, smoke or haze restrictions, lighting rules and unusual access arrangements.

Is your equipment PAT tested?
Yes. The current recorded PAT test was completed on 31 August 2026. Equipment is also visually checked as part of setup and use.
Can my venue receive your risk assessment?
Yes. A general mobile DJ risk assessment is available, with event-specific information added where the location, access or proposed setup requires it.
Why can’t I download the certificates from this page?
The documents contain operational and policy information intended for genuine customers and venue teams. They are provided privately to the appropriate contact rather than published for unrestricted reuse.
Will you contact the venue directly?
Yes. If practical arrangements need confirming, send me the coordinator’s details or ask the venue to contact me. I will resolve the supplier questions without making you relay technical messages.
What happens if the venue has a sound limiter?
I work within the venue’s stated limits and adapt speaker placement and levels accordingly. The important point is knowing about the limiter before setup wherever possible.
